vo1_755A10_and_755A11.gifDust Devil in Syria Planum (GIF-Movie)59 visiteCaption NASA:"On 1 August 1978, the two cameras of the Viking 1 Orbiter's Imaging System acquired overlapping pictures of a Region in between Syria and Sinai Planum that showed a light-toned columnar feature casting a shadow toward the South-East (lower right). The two images, 755A10 and 755A11, were obtained just 15" apart from each other.
During that time, the bright feature and its shadow changed. The feature was a Dust Devil, and the Viking cameras caught it in motion.
Nearly three decades later, the MGS-MOC acquired an image on 22 March 2005 of the area, with the ephemeral Dust Devil long, long gone. During the 15" interval between the two Viking 1 images, the Dust Devil moved toward the North-East (upper right) at a rate of about 18 mt (about 59 feet) per second. Sunlight illuminates all of the images from the upper left; North is up".MareKromium

Barca)59 visiteI GIF-Movies che Vi proponiamo, ad iniziare da questo, sono stati tutti realizzati (nella versione "semplice", in quella ad "elevata magnificazione" ed infine nella versione "edited") dal sempre eccezionale Dr Gianluigi Barca; ma la "Scoperta", se tale fosse stata, sarebbe appartenuta al nostro BRAVISSIMO Dr Marco Faccin.
E la "Realtà"? La Realtà, purtroppo, si è mostrata - dopo aver guardato e riguardato queste immagini - nella sua cruda bellezza: l'oggetto che si muove dietro alla roccia inquadrata dal MI di Spirit NON E' un corpo fisico, ma un semplice (e MAGNIFICAMENTE INGANNEVOLE) riflesso di luce, probabilmente filtrata attraverso i Pannelli Solari del Rover Spirit.
Queste immagini, ne siamo certi, Vi colpiranno e Vi lasceranno (giustamente) perplessi: "Ma perchè", pensiamo che Vi chiederete, "la NASA non mostra queste incredibili sequenze e si limita a tritare e ritritare - in frames, GIF Movies e Studi - l'ovvio?"
Risposta: perchè, a nostro avviso, la NASA preferisce "istruire" sull'ovvietà. L'Ignoto (anche quando è razionalmente e ragionevolmente spiegabile - come in questo caso) è meglio lasciarlo perdere.
E se qualcuno pensasse che noi facciamo i "De-Bunkers" di noi stessi e del nostro Lavoro, lasciateci dire che si sbaglia: noi NON "de-bunkiamo" alcunchè! Noi ci limitiamo a cercare, trovare e mostrare la REALTA' per quello che è.
Talvolta, sebbene - apparentemente! - si tratti di una Realtà incredibile, riusciamo a razionalizzarla e spiegarla (come in questo caso); altre volte non ci riusciamo (e lasciamo a Voi l'ingrato compito di provarci).
Ma la Verità è che noi cerchiamo, troviamo e spieghiamo agendo SEMPRE in Buona Fede! Vorremmo poter dire la stessa cosa in ordine al Lavoro di tanti altri Ricercatori (Italiani e non) ed Enti (idem c.s.)...Ma non possiamo.
