E l'angolo che si intuisce nella sezione in alto a Dx (di chi guarda) è effettivamente un angolo di 90° (circa...).
Struttura "artificiale", quindi? Forse.
O forse no. Andiamo a verificare (una cosa che gli Eso-Archeografi, a cominciare dal buon Prof. Hoagland, NON FANNO MAI!) le riprese a risoluzione più elevata...MareKromium

Faccin)73 visiteI "mirtilli" che vedete in questa coppia di frames hanno dimensioni non eccedenti i 4 mm; i due frames sono stati ottenuti ad una (relativamente) breve distanza di tempo l'uno dall'altro e, quasi per "magìa"...alcuni particolari - senza (ufficialmente!) l'intervento del Robotic Arm - sono cambiati. Alcuni ciottoli "spariscono", altri "appaiono" e la sensazione che una mano "gentile" sia intervenuta a cercare, spostare, selezionare e, forse, prelevare, diventa molto forte.
Comunque eccoVi i maggiori "Changings"...
A) un ciottolino la cui forma ricorda vagamente la Sardegna, nel frame di Dx (posizione A1) è sparito senza lasciar traccia;
B) accanto ad un ciottolo a forma di pera (forse che forma tutt'uno con un altro micro-rilievo), nel frame di Dx (posizione B1) "appare" - dove prima non c'era nulla - un'altra pietruzza;
C) il ciottolo C, nel frame di Dx (posizione C1) scompare;
D) idem come sopra per il ciottolo D (uno dei più grandi), che nel frame di Dx (posizione D1) non c'è più (ed il terreno NON APPARE essere stato disturbato...).
E allora, cari Amici di Pasadena...A che "gioco stiamo (anzi: state) giocando"?!?
NOTA: per completezza dell'informazione, diciamo che Il Robotic Arm di Opportunity ha svolto attività documentabili (si vedano i frames ottenuti durante il Sol 199 dalla Front Haz-Cam che testimoniano dei movimenti del RA), ma NON sappiamo di che natura fossero dette attività (fotografie con il MI a parte).
L'intervallo durante il quale il RA è stato CERTAMENTE OPERATIVO, come da immagini Front Haz-Cam, va dalle ore 13:16:19 alle ore 13:34:22 MLT.
Le immagini ottenute con il Microscopic Imager (full sequence), vanno dalle ore 12:24:46 sino alle ore 13:30:43 MLT. MareKromium

Gullies are young features that are widely thought to form from fluvial processes involving liquid water. These particular gullies have very fine channels, including some that intersect and overlap. This is evidence that multiple flow events occurred within the Gullies.
The wavy, arcuate ridges at the bottom of the slope may have formed by gravity moving ice-rich material off the crater wall.
The pitted texture of the crater floor suggests that volatiles (ices that easily turn into gas) escaped from the subsurface, causing the surrounding material to collapse and form small pits.

E attenzione. Noi NON sappiamo esattamente che cosa sia questo "rumore", ma una cosa è certa: i "suoni" in arrivo dal Sol 42 sono in parte simili a quelli che abbiamo già ascoltato nel Sol 38, ma in parte diversi. C'è "qualcosa" in più, oltre ad un segnale portante continuo, che si può sentire bene intorno al secondo 55.
Che ne pensate?
Un consiglio: ascoltate questa emissione (estratta dal Grandissimo Marco Faccin attraverso la scansione di ben 22 frames Phoenix) "in cuffia"!MareKromium

This Region is covered by a layer of translucent seasonal CO2 ice that warms and evaporates from below. As CO2 gas escapes from below the slab of seasonal ice it scours dust from the surface. The gas vents to the surface, where the dust is carried downwind by the prevailing wind.
The channels carved by the escaping gas are often radially organized and are known informally as "spiders". MareKromium
