Il Vecchio rimase un po' perplesso e per un attimo ebbe la tentazione di chiedere a loro quale idea si fossero fatta della cosa, ma sorrise rendendosi conto di avere saltato, quasi consapevolmente, una parte importante della storia, senza la quale Lear altro non sarebbe stato che un semplice avventuriero.
'Non c'era niente su quella Stella se non ciò che il Desiderio ed il Bisogno di Lear vollero porvi. Per lui, era solo un luogo lontano dove potersi rifugiare e vivere in pace. Su Geo era solito, verso sera, trascorrere un po' del suo tempo a guardare il cielo e così, quando la vedeva sorgere e muoversi, sempre un pò in disparte rispetto alle altre che, in coro, si portavano da un Emisfero all'altro, non poteva fare a meno di identificarsi in qualche modo con lei.
Rimaneva per ore a guardarla, nel suo cammino solitario, e questo lo aiutava a riflettere ed a capire meglio la sua condizione di uomo..."
