Dimenticando per un attimo il "Warning" che continua a lampeggiare sul nostro Sito, dovremmo provare a chiederci quale possa essere la causa di questa strana "malattia" delle pietre (diciamo malattia perchè ci risulta davvero difficile immaginare una causa di questi cracks la quale possa venire totalmente attribuita al vento o ad altri fattori climatici Marziani - ma quali?!?).
Le immagini ci sono, sono migliaia e sono indiscutibili (i giochi di luce e di ombra ci vanno bene come spiegazione per tante possibili Singolarità, ma attribuire a filtri inappropriati, riflessi ingannevoli ed ombre malandrine TUTTE le Anomalie che abbiamo riscontrato in questi mesi di esplorazione Marziana ci sembra davvero un approccio "leggero" e colpevolmente semplicistico.

Nessun commento ufficiale, nessuna annotazione di sorta: uno dei rilievi più intriganti ed affascinanti del Summit di Husband Hill viene, con semplicità e naturalezza, "ignorato".
Non c'è, non esiste; e se esiste, non ha importanza: questa è la tecnica divulgativa made in NASA ed ESA. Una tecnica che poggia stabilmente da qualche anno sull'erudita spiegazione e documentazione dell'irrilevante (o del déjà vu) o sul by-passing di tutto quanto appare - anche ai meno attenti - come curioso, anomalo e, in un modo o nell'altro, "fuori schema".
Un'ottima "tecnica educativa delle e per le masse", indubbiamente, che abbiamo visto usare con grande cura e sagacia anche da Conduttori ed Ospiti di qualche programmino divulgativo (ma di livello proprio basso...) comune anche a "casa nostra" (pensate a "Voyager", p.e., e tanto per stare nella storia recente).

The smooth Region leading up to the A-Ring grows brighter from the left to the right (known as a "ramp" to Ring).
This Region contains a faint "double-wave" structure that is a density feature caused by the influence of the co-orbital moons Janus and Epimetheus. Scientists are interested in observing the evolution of this density wave as the moons swap places in their orbits every few years, presumably resulting in a change in the perturbations that cause this feature.
This image was taken in visible light with the Cassini narrow-angle camera on Sept. 5, 2005, at a distance of approx. 441.000 Km (about 274.000 miles) from Saturn. The image scale is 2 Km (a little more than 1 mile) per pixel".
