This Fractured Terrain covers the Trailing Hemisphere of Dione (which is about 1123 Km, or approx. 698 miles across). This view is centered on Terrain at approx. 53° North Latitude and 209° West Longitude.
The image was taken in Visible Light with the Cassini Spacecraft narrow-angle camera on Oct. 17, 2010. The view was acquired at a distance of approx. 61.000 Km (about 38.000 miles) from Dione and at a Sun-Dione-Spacecraft, or Phase, Angle of 32°. Ma...La Verità? La Verità, Cari Amici, non la conosce (ancora, forse...) nessuno, ma se esistono "Professori" e "Discepoli" che, alla vista di ogni sasso strano, gridano al "manufatto alieno" (e nessuno, a quanto pare, li accusa di complottismo, opportunismo, eccesso di fantasia o mera stupidità, anzi...), perchè noi dovremmo star zitti e quieti quando, davanti a noi, si presentano delle (chiamiamole così...) "Possibilità"?
La Possibilità che non tutto sia conosciuto ed ovvio (come ci insegna la NASA e la Scienza Convenzionale).
La Possibilità che esistano Forme Vitali Esotiche dalle sembianze "statuarie" (dei "Gargoyles", appunto...).
La Possibilità che non tutto quello che ci appare impossibile, lo sia effettivamente.
La Possibilità che, un giorno, quelli che oggi ridono e parlano di "Unicità del Genere Umano" e delle Forme Vitali basate sul Carbonio, debbano trovare un posto laddove andare a nascondersi per sfuggire al dileggio.
Ed infine (last but not least), la Possibilità che tutte queste pseudo-rocce sìano solamente delle "pietre dalle forme strane", sulle cui sembianze abbiamo speculato e lavorato un pò troppo con l'Immaginazione...
Solo chi vivrà, vedrà.
