SOL1856-Site_AB0_476_navcam_CYP_R.jpg
SOL1856-Site_AB0_476_navcam_CYP_R.jpgNew Record Five-Wheel Drive, Spirit's Sol 1856 (Tri-chromatic Version; credits: Lunar Explorer Italia)56 visiteCaption NASA:"NASA's MER Spirit used its NavCam to take the images that have been combined into this 180-degree view of the Rover's surroundings during the 1856th Sol of Spirit's surface mission (such as March 23, 2009). The center of the view is toward the West-South-West.
The Rover had driven 25,82 mt (84,7 feet) West-NorthWestward earlier on Sol 1856. This is the longest drive on Mars so far by a Rover using only 5 wheels. Spirit lost the use of its right-front wheel in March 2006. Before Sol 1856, the farthest Spirit had covered in a single Sol's 5-wheel drive was 24,83 meters (81,5 feet), on Sol 1363 (Nov. 3, 2007).
The Sol 1856 drive made progress on a route planned for taking Spirit around the western side of the low plateau called Home Plate.
A portion of the North-Western edge of Home Plate is prominent in the left quarter of this image, toward the South.
This view is presented as a cylindrical projection with geometric seam correction".

Rhea-PIA11458.jpgRhea (Natural Colors; credits: Lunar Explorer Italia)56 visiteCaption NASA:"The Terminator between light and dark throws Rhea's cratered surface into stark relief while the Southern Hemisphere is scored by bright icy cliffs.
North on Rhea is up and rotated 42° to the right in this 2-tile mosaic. This view looks toward the Leading Hemisphere of Rhea (approx. 1528 Km, or about 949 miles across).

The image was taken in visible light with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on Feb. 2, 2009. The view was acquired at a distance of approx. 181.000 Km (such as about 112.000 miles) from Rhea and at a Sun-Rhea-Spacecraft, or Phase, Angle of 91°.
Image scale is roughly 1 Km (about 3300 feet) per pixel".

Hellas_Planitia-MGS~1.jpgValley in Hellas Planitia (Absolute Natural Colors; credits for the additional process. and color.: Dr Paolo C. Fienga - Lunexit Team) 56 visiteCaption originale:"This MGS-MOC image shows a valley which has become partially-filled with material. It is located West of Hellas Planitia. The valley, entering the scene from the East (lower side), turns toward the South-West (upper right) and splits to form a "V". Partially-filled depressions are common throughout the scene, including the circular feature near the top of the image.
In each such case, the filling material is probably the remains of a material that once covered the entire scene".

Titan-PIA11468.jpg
Titan-PIA11468.jpgFrom the Dark Side... (Natural - but enhanced - Colors; credits: NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute)56 visiteCaption NASA:"From the Dark Side of Titan, the Cassini Spacecraft profiles the moon's Atmosphere as sunlight filters through its upper Hazes.
An airless satellite would appear in this viewing geometry only as a lit crescent. But Titan's thick Atmosphere scatters light around all edges of the Planet to create a ring of light.
Images taken using red, green and blue spectral filters were combined to create this full color view of Titan at high phase. The color in the image on the right has been computer enhanced to bring out the outer haze layer, and the contrast in both images has been enhanced.

This view looks toward the Saturn-facing Side of Titan. North on Titan is up and rotated 45° to the left. The images were acquired at a distance of approx. 1,8 MKM (1,1 MMs) from Titan and at a Sun-Titan-Spacecraft, or Phase, Angle of 157°.
Image scale is roughly 11 Km (about 7 miles) per pixel".

Saturn's long shadow covers the left side of the image. This view looks toward the sunlit side of the Rings from about 22° below the Ring-Plane.

The image was taken in visible light with the Cassini Spacecraft wide-angle camera on Feb. 26, 2009. The view was acquired at a distance of approx. 821.000 Km (about 510.000 miles) from Saturn and at a Sun-Saturn-Spacecraft, or Phase, Angle of 150°.
Image scale is roughly 46 Km (about 29 miles) per pixel".
