Enceladus-PIA08354.jpgEnceladus (in false colors)57 visiteThe mosaic shows the anti-Saturnian Hemisphere of Enceladus -- the side that always faces away from Saturn.
This Region contains a number of tectonic and impact features and shows how these two geologic forces interact on Enceladus. The center left portion of this mosaic is dominated by Diyar Planitia.
Like Sarandib Planitia observed in the previous Enceladus flyby, the Region is characterized by low ridges and troughs. Throughout this Hemisphere, fractures of all sizes disrupt the previously existing cratered terrain and even the comparatively youthful Diyar Planitia.
Many of the younger fractures have blue-green walls, revealing coarse-grained water ice in the top layers of Enceladus' lithosphere, compared to the fine-grained ice that coats much of Enceladus' surface. The blue-green color is very similar to the coatings surrounding the South Polar "tiger stripes" (these appear greener than the features in the south polar mosaic released in 2005 due to the use of clear-filter images, instead of green, in that mosaic).

A nostro avviso, NON siamo davanti ad image-artifacts nè a rilievi soggetti ad una forma di distorsione dell'immagine dovuta al tipo di angolo visuale adottato da MRO (e quindi rilievi "regolari" che appaiono "distorti" in seguito ad un effetto ottico).
La Verità, al momento, è che siamo in presenza di rilievi peculiari di Marte e, di fatto, non solo inesplicabili, ma anche totalmente ignorati (almeno in via "ufficiale") dalle maggiori Agenzie Spaziali.

Psp_001497_2480_red-01.jpgThe Northern Lakes: Lake "Ginny" (EDM - False Colors)57 visiteEd una volta operato un extra-detail mgnf a noi pare che non ci possano essere più dubbi di sorta: sul fondo di questo Cratere c'è un deposito di ghiaccio (l'albedo del ghiaccio d'acqua non tradisce!) e quindi, come già fatto in passato, possiamo parlare tranquillamente di Frozen Lake.
E poi, dato che NASA ed ESA non vedono (e se hanno visto, non hanno detto nulla), noi, in qualità di "scopritori" di questo Terzo Lago Marziano, abbiamo deciso di battezzarlo con il nome di "Lake Ginny".
Attenzione: noi lo sappiamo che la IAU non approverà mai queste nostre decisioni nè avallerà mai queste nostre scoperte (almeno non finchè saremo vivi...).
Tuttavia, se in un futuro (lontano) ci verrà resa un pò di giustizia, forse qualcuno dei nomi che abbiamo dato ad alcuni rilievi Lunari e Marziani che, tutto sommato ed a ragion veduta, riteniamo legittimamente di aver individuato per primi, potrebbe anche essere confermato. E nel dubbio, operando con entusiasmo e con il cuore pieno di speranza...Noi "battezziamo"!MareKromium

Titan-Dunes-PIA09111.jpgTitanian Dunes57 visiteCaption NASA:"This pair of images, taken by the Cassini spacecraft radar mapper on two different Titan passes on Dec. 11, 2006 (T21 left) and Oct. 29, 2005 (T8 right), represent two different views of a field of dunes located near 9,4° South Latitude by 290° West Longitude.
The images were taken in synthetic aperture mode and have a resolution of approximately 500 mt(1.640 feet). North is toward the top of both images and each image is approx. 400 Km (250 miles) long by 275 Km (about 170 miles) wide.
The images are different only because the radar instrument illuminated the dunes from different directions. Acting somewhat like a flash camera, the radar sends out microwave pulses and makes an image from the pulses after they are reflected back. Imagine that both the camera and the flash come from the left in the left image and from the top in the right image.
Most obvious differences are seen in the large bright feature at the center of both images. At left, its left edge is brighter, emphasizing the more steep slopes there. Farther left, the dunes are more clearly defined in the right image as their faces are caught by the illumination. However, since the dunes are visible in both images, it is likely that the materials making up the dark and light stripes are also somehow different. More detailed studies of how materials on Titan reflect and scatter at different angles are giving us clues about what different materials might be present in this cold and distant world".

Si, certo, questa può essere Volgarità. Anche questa è Volgarità.
Ma se mi chiedi che cosa io ritengo essere volgare, allora ti dico che, a mio parere, sono volgari ed offensive del Pudore, dell'Onestà Intellettuale, del Buon Senso, della Giustizia e di quant'altro è ancora considerabile come "Sacro", tutte le parole che vengono proferite dai Capi di Stato in occasione degli Auguri di fine anno, come in occasione del verificarsi di calamità, di crimini efferati, di ingiustizie e di funerali di stato; sono volgari le dichiarazioni sulle piaghe del mondo, dalla fame alla guerra civile, le quali - umide di lacrime di coccodrillo - arrivano da professionisti del jet-set, da attori, da atleti, o da personaggi dello spettacolo che, nel corso della loro vita da privilegiati oltre ragione ed oltre misura, ritengono di avere il diritto di dire le loro squallide ovvietà su un mondo che vedono solo in televisione oppure quando, protetti, serviti e riveriti, visitano gli zoo umani del Terzo Mondo.
