Prima di distendersi e tentare di dormire (o almeno di riposarsi) un pò prima di ripartire, si scatta qualche altra fotografia del paesaggio e, in questo frame, si può vedere l'ombra della Bandiera a Stelle e Strisce che gli astronauti hanno da poco piantato sul suolo Lunare. Il cielo Lunare è nero come la pece, il suolo - diremmo - giallo con vaghe sfumature bianche e rosate.

Sono comunque chiaramente visibili le impronte degli astronauti nei pressi del LM e della Bandiera. Il paesaggio fotografato, se Vi ricordate, è lo stesso dove, nel frame 5455, appariva - sul filo dell'orizzonte - il punto luminoso (the flare-like light) che sarebbe, poi, "volato via"...

Il paesaggio Lunare, adesso, comincia ad esserci familiare. per esempio: avete già notato quei tre macigni (boulders) che sembrano disegnare una sorta di triangolo (quasi) rettangolo, in alto, sopra la Bandiera, a Sn dell'Osservatore? Un consiglio: annotateVi sempre bene i dettagli: servono sia come punti di riferimento a terra, sia come promemoria per valutare eventuali incongruenze di sfondo, tra un frame e l'altro.

Rinnoviamo un commento fatto a proposito del frame AS 11-37-5437: ma come può un (ex) Cervellone della NASA, quale era ed è Bill Kaysing (cfr. "Luna: una beffa da 300 miliardi di Dollari") confondere un oggetto in primissimo piano (e quindi sfuocato) con un'ombra proiettata sopra uno sfondo lontano???

APOLLO 14 AS 14 66-9338 HR.jpgAS 14-66-9338 - Flag and tracks (HR)94 visiteEd Mitchell took this splendid picture after he and Shepard jettisoned the PLSSs in preparation for launch. Of particular interest are the tracks made by the crew and the MET during the traverse to the ALSEP deployment site and during the return to the LM. The ALSEP Central Station is about 180mt from the LM. Note the excursions the crew made around the rimless crater in the foreground and the large depression in the middle distance that they traversed in both directions. Without the visual clues provided by the tracks, the depression is not easy to pick out in this down-Sun photo. Note that the flag is now pointing on an azimuth of about 335 and undoubtedly moved from it prior pointing of about 120 as a result of the cabin depressurization done for the jettison. Journal Contributor Jim Scotti notes that we "can see the impact 'crater' and roll marks made by the PLSS farthest from the LM. It rolled on it's side and you can see a fair bit of detail in the hoses and straps on the righthand side of it".
