Candor_Chasma-03.jpgCandor Chasma from MGS and 2001 Mars Odyssey81 visiteCaption originale:"The 2001 Mars Odyssey Spacecraft includes an imaging device called THEMIS which scans strips of Mars in various wavelengths. Although numerous excellent images have been returned, unfortunately quirks and light leak defects in the camera system prevent straightforward registration of images obtained in different wavelengths. The first RGB color image released from Mars Odyssey is shown in the context of a color image from Mars Global Surveyor with a faked green channel. The THEMIS image appears too dark and saturated to me but I have preserved the color balance as released. Detailed criticism must be qualified by knowledge of the heroic measures taken to 'rescue' this RGB color image. The dark gray terrain in the valley floor shows as brownish to olive greenish in the closeup, and an orange region in the lower right is seen as the edge of a larger reddish area in the central interior of Candor Chasma".

Candor_Chasma_Region-00.jpg"Noise" over Candor Chasma?
Stesso fenomeno o semplice somiglianza?
O quasi.MareKromium

Chaotic_Terrain-Eos_Chaos-00.jpgFeatures of Eos Chaos: Circular Butte (Original NASA/MGS/MSSS b/w Frame - 1)57 visiteOriginal caption:"This MGS-MOC image shows light-toned, Layered Rock Outcrops in Eos Chaos, located near the East end of the Valles Marineris Trough System. The Outcrops occur in the form of a distinct, circular Butte (image 1) and a high Slope (image 2). The rocks might be sedimentary rocks, similar to those found elsewhere exposed in the Valles Marineris System and the Chaotic Terrain to the East of the Region".
