APOLLO 8 Re-Entry.jpg
APOLLO 8 Re-Entry.jpgS69-15592 - The re-entry of Apollo 894 visiteThe final sightings, both deliberate and accidental, of each mission would come during reentry over the Pacific. NASA added camera pods to the Apollo Range Instrumentation Aircraft (later --> Advanced Instrumentation Aircraft, ARIA) platforms, generating pictures such as S69-15592 of Apollo 8 (this one), originally found at "http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/mirrors/images/html/as8.htm"

Numerous bits of debris, presumably from the Service Module, appear as well as the fireball around the Command Module.
Additional pictures by airline passengers exist at least for Apollo 13.

APOLLO 17 AS 17-145-22157 HR.jpgAS 17-145-22157 - Schmitt among BIG boulders (HR)92 visiteCaption NASA originale:"146:46:36 MT - This Station 5 photo shows Jack Schmitt collecting a soil sample on the south side of the rim boulders (due curiosità:

1) la scala cromatica propria dello Gnomon - in basso a Dx - è sbiadita, ma non si tratta di un difetto del frame - noi pensiamo che la causa dello sbiadimento sia nelle polveri depositatesi sul tripode -;

APOLLO 11 AS11-44-6574.jpgAS 11-44-6574 - The "Eagle" (HR)87 visiteCaption NASA originale:"A view of the LM Eagle, shortly after undocking from Columbia. At this point, Mike Collins is doing a visual inspection of the Lunar Module, and is verifying that the landing gear is down and locked.
An evolution in the LM's design is also apparent: the RCS plume deflectors, mounted on the Descent Stage underneath each RCS quad, were added to prevent the thermal damage observed on the Apollo 10 LM.
To verify for yourself, please refer and compare this photograph with that of the Apollo 10 LM ( AS 10-34-5085 )".

This is a close-up of the north footpad, showing the buried probe. The triangular-shape imprint on the soil next to the footpad can also be seen in AS 11-40-5903 and appears to have been made by a cable or strap (...)".Ott 22, 2006

APOLLO 11 AS 11-40-5949 HR.jpgAS 11-40-5949 - Working on the Moon (HR)79 visiteCaption NASA originale:"Neil took this picture not long after taking 5948. He moved to his left between frames and this may be the moment when he goes out of the TV field-of-view. This picture gives us a good view of the split boulder that is between the two experiments. In the background, we can see the LM, the U.S. flag, and the TV camera. Note the footprints at the lower right. The astronaut who made them seems to have been moving from right to left. The rightmost footprint made with his left boot has a very deep toe imprint while the rightmost imprint made by his right boot is relatively flat and uniform. While bringing his left foot forward for the next step, he seems to have been dragging his heel, a clear indication that he was walking flat-foot, rather then hopping or running. The next left-boot toe print is deep while above it, we see that he was also scuffing his right heel along the surface. Note that the next prints made by both boots indicate that he turned to his right".Ott 22, 2006
