The giant storm churns through Jupiter's Atmosphere, creating the turbulent flows to its West. On the West-side of the Great Red Spot itself, a sliver of red material is being pulled off the periphery. This is a recent, frequent, phenomenon first observed in ground-based data in 2017.
Two images have been mosaicked together by citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill to create this enhanced color composite. When they were taken on Feb. 12, 2019 at 10:24 a.m. PDT (1:24 p.m. EDT) and 10:29 a.m. PDT (1:29 p.m. EDT), Juno was about 43.500 miles (such as about 70.006,464 Km) above Jupiter's cloud tops. As with solar eclipses on the Earth, within the dark circle racing across Jupiter's cloud tops one would witness a full solar eclipse as Io passes in front of the Sun.
Such events occur frequently on Jupiter because it is a large planet with many moons. In addition, unlike most other planets in our solar system, Jupiter's axis is not highly tilted relative to its orbit, so the Sun never strays far from Jupiter's equatorial plane (+/- 3°). This means Jupiter's moons regularly cast their shadows on the planet throughout its year.
Juno's close proximity to Jupiter provides an exceptional fish-eye view, showing a small fraction near the planet's Equator. The shadow is about 2.200 miles (such as approx. 3.540,55 Km) wide, approximately the same width as Io, but appears much larger relative to Jupiter.
A little larger than Earth's Moon, Io is perhaps most famous for its many active volcanoes, often caught lofting fountains of ejecta well above its thin (?) Atmosphere.
Citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill created this enhanced-color image using data from the spacecraft's JunoCam imager. The raw image was taken on Sept. 11, 2019 at 8:41 p.m. PDT (11:41 p.m. EDT) as the Juno spacecraft performed its 22nd close fly-by of Jupiter. At the time the image was taken, the spacecraft was about 4.885 miles (approx. 7.861,64 Km) from the cloud tops at a Latitude of 21° North".

Coronavirus.pngDo you know me?370 visiteQuesta illustrazione (tanto suggestiva quanto un pizzico improbabile), é stata creata dai Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Americani, e ci rivela (fantasiosamente, a mio parere) la morfologia ultrastrutturale mostrata dal "SARS-CoV-2".
Da notare ci sono i "chiodini" che costellano la superficie esterna del virus e gli conferiscono l'aspetto di una "corona" che circonda il virione, come vista attraverso un Microscopio Elettronico.
Questo virus è stato identificato come la causa di una pandemia di affezioni respiratorie registratesi per la prima volta in quel di Wuhan, Cina.
L'Orthocoronavirinae è una sottofamiglia di virus, noti anche come coronavirus, della famiglia Coronaviridae, del sottordine Cornidovirineae, dell'ordine Nidovirales. In passato essa era classificata come genere ed era (é) suddivisa nei generi "alphacoronavirus", "betacoronavirus", "gammacoronavirus" e "deltacoronavirus".
Questi includono genogruppi filogeneticamente compatti di RNA avvolto, a senso positivo, a singolo filamento e con un nucleocapside di simmetria elicoidale. L'"Alphacoronavirus" ed il "Betacoronavirus" derivano dal pool genico dei pipistrelli. (Fonte: Wikipedia).
Molto bene. Sappiamo tanto, quindi, eppure...
Eppure la sensazione é che si continui a brancolare nel buio, alla ricerca di qualcosa, che ancora ci sfugge. Io non sono un Virologo, né un Immunologo, né un "Medico Condotto". La mia branca specifica di conoscenza attiene le Scienze Planetarie.
E cosa avrebbero a che fare le Scienze Planetarie con il Coronavirus e gli sfaceli che sta combinando, qui, in Italia, ed un pò in tutto il Mondo?
Nulla.
O Qualcosa. Chissà...
Io mi sono posto una domanda, dopo aver letto, visto e sentito di tutto e di più su quell'argomento che pare essere l'UNICO argomento di discussione ad oggi.
Ma da dove viene questo "Virus"? E se i "pipistrelli" (noti "Cugini del Conte Dracula", ma il Coronavirus NON é una malattia del sangue, mi pare...) non avessero nulla a che fare con esso? E se ci fosse sfuggito qualcosa? E se non avessimo considerato qualcosa?
Mi son posto delle domande e, da perfetto NON conoscitore della Materia Medica, ho provato a ragionare in Termini "Planetari" e "Cosmici" (senza certo poi dimenticare del tutto la Natura "Umana") e mi son ritrovato con tre possibili origini del flagello (oltre quelle note).
ATTENZIONE! Queste mie note sono solo il piccolo e modesto frutto di una serie domande che - credo - ognuno di noi si é posto in questo periodo. Io mi sono limitato a "spostare" - leggermente - l'ambito di ricerca.
Ecco le tre ipotesi (ma non escludo, ovviamente, che ve ne possano essere altre, assai meno - o forse più - "esotiche").
1. L'attuale "flagello" é il risultato di un'opera/attività di laboratorio ("roba nostra", insomma) la quale, partita da fatti noti e dati acquisiti (e rivolta alla creazione di qualcosa che non sono in grado di immaginare), é poi "sfuggita di mano" agli Scienziati chiamati a "lavorare" su questo "oggetto". Ok, é un'ipotesi "Complottista": NON ditemelo né ricordatemelo, per favore, perché lo so benissimo. Come so benissimo che NON é un'ipotesi da scartare "a priori" (le "Armi Batteriologiche" non sono il frutto di una mia fantasia...);
2. L'attuale "flagello" é una variante ulteriore - e molto più resistente, dei Coronavirus conosciuti (e sopracitati) - poiché é stato "recuperato" dal passato del nostro Pianeta. Un Passato remoto, probabilmente. Come? Mediante carotaggi e perforazioni di terre e ghiacci che risalgono a decine o centinaia di millenni (Ere, in altre parole) orsono. Dove? In Antartide, probabilmente, ma non escluderei luoghi meno remoti. Dal passato non ci arrivano solo "fossili" e "ceneri" risalenti alle Ere Vulcaniche della Terra. Dal Passato ci può arrivare di tutto, a condizione che la conservazione di quel "tutto" sia stata ottimale. E se questa "variante" di Coronavirus risalisse a centinaia di migliaia od anche ad uno o due milioni di anni fa?!?
E se questo "oggetto" l'avessimo riportato "noi" alla Vita, carotando ghiacci antichissimi e/o cercando risorse naturali mediante semplici ed ordinarie attività di perforazione?!? Il risultato non cambierebbe comunque. Se questa (certo, assurda...) ipotesi fosse anche solo in minima parte realistica o plausibile, potremmo ipotizzare di aver davvero "risvegliato un mostro" - ed il rimetterlo a nanna potrebbe non essere facilissimo. Ciò che é sopravvissuto ad Ere di ghiaccio, stratificazioni rocciose, condizioni termiche estreme e buio, e poi si risveglia, improvvisamente, trovando pure delle condizioni "gradite", non va sottovalutato: sarebbe comunque più forte di noi. E di certo molto più vecchio.
3. L'attuale "flagello", pur apparendo di origine Terrestre, in realtà arriva da altrove. E se fosse stato trasportato qui da un bolide (od una serie di bolidi...) schiantatosi sulla cima - o nelle sue prossimiltà - di una o diverse delle più alte montagne della Terra, laddove l'Atmosfera é rarefatta e quindi lo "sforzo" richiesto per raggiungere il nostro pianeta rimanendo (relativamente intatti) é inferiore? Questa non é Fantascienza, attenzione! E' un'ipotesi formulata anni orsono da illustri Scienziati USA per "esporre" al Mondo alcuni dei rischi ai quali siamo soggetti ed anche per confermare che la "Vita" sulla Terra potrebbe essere effettivamente giunta dallo Spazio Profondo. La "Vita", ma non solo, forse. Il fatto che questo Coronavirus "assomigli" a dei (sub)generi terrestri non deve necessariamente significare che esso sia di matrice terrestre al 100%.
Come si propaga? Ovviamente attraverso l'aria, assecondando il moto della Terra e le correnti atmosferiche dominanti. Perché é così "forte"? Perché ha un trascorso di grande resistenza, come ho cercato di accennare. Muore o diviene inerte a temperature medio alte (sopra i 25/26° C)? Forse, perché viene dal gelo e da condizioni estreme, non compatibili con l'irraggiamento e la temperatura media della Superficie della Terra. Ma allora perché sopravvive all'interno di un Essere Umano, la cui temperatura interna é certamente superiore ai 26°? Perché, probabilmente, siamo "internamente fertili", sebbene un pò caldi, e quindi accettabili (spesso si "usa" ciò che si ha e non quel che si "vorrebbe".
Io non lo so.
So che qualunque malattia può essere combattuta ed anche battuta. Ma so altresì che, qualche volta, bisogna pensare anche all'impensabile, se non altro per allargare i confini della Mente e, dunque, della Ricerca. Poi, alla fine, sapremo tutto.
O almeno me lo auguro.
Grazie e perdonatemi le "ipotesi" estreme che ho formulato ma, come saprete (e come bene sa chi mi conosce), a me piace guardare il Mondo e l'Universo, certo, ma mi piace anche pensarci un pò su, prima di dedicarmi ad altro...

An enhanced-color view (such as this one) adds to this color a separate view taken using a spectral filter (centered at 938 nanometers) that can partially see through the haze.

Saturn-PIA21899.gifPolar Lights (Auroral Emissions from the North Pole of Saturn)116 visiteCaption NASA Originale:"On Sept. 14, 2017, one day before making its final plunge into Saturn's Atmosphere, NASA's Cassini Spacecraft used its Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph, or UVIS, instrument to capture this final view of Ultraviolet Auroral Emissions over the Planet's North Polar Regions.
The view is centered on the North Pole of Saturn, with lines of Latitude visible for 80, 70 and 60°. Lines of Longitude are spaced 40° apart. The Planet's Day-Side is at the bottom of the picture, while the Night-Side is at the top. A sequence of images from this observation has also been assembled into a movie sequence. The last image in the movie was taken about an hour before the still image, which was the actual final UVIS auroral image.
Auroral Emissions are generated by charged particles traveling along the invisible lines of Saturn's Magnetic Field. These particles (then) precipitate into the Atmosphere, releasing light when they strike (the) Gas Molecules (that are present) there.
Several individual auroral structures are visible here, despite that this UVIS view was acquired at a fairly large distance from the Planet (such as about 424.000 miles or approx. 682.361,856 Km). Each of these features is connected to a particular phenomenon (occurring) in the Saturnian Magnetosphere. For instance, it is possible to identify Auroral "signatures" here that are related to the injection of "Hot Plasma" from the Day-Side Magnetosphere, as well as Auroral Features associated with a change in the Magnetic Field's shape (existing) on the Magnetosphere's Night-Side.
Several possible scenarios have been postulated over the years to explain Saturn's changing Auroral Emissions, but researchers are still far from a complete understanding of this complicated puzzle. Researchers will continue to analyze the hundreds of image sequences UVIS obtained of Saturn's auroras during Cassini's 13-year mission, with many new discoveries likely to be made.

In questo frame, ci appare del tutto evidente che la densità dell'Atmosfera di Titano NON é strettamente correlata all'altezza della stessa (ergo delle sue nuvole e nebbie) rispetto al Datum (Altitudine Zero); le turbolenze (e quindi anche la composizione chimica dell'Atmosfera) sembrano estendersi e rivolgersi, a volte, da strati più bassi verso quelli più alti, mentre, in altri casi, sembra avvienire esattamente l'opposto.
Questa conclusione é stata basata sull'esame di immagini sequenziali che coprissero la medesima Regione Titaniana per svariati minuti (o decine di minuti). In questo frame le innumerevoli "disomogeneità" sono del tutto palesi.
Non possiamo neppure escludere l'esistenza di (violentissime) correnti convettive le cui cause, tuttavia, non sono ancora chiare.

Ma che si tratti di "qualcosa" che SEMBRA essere "attaccata/appiccicata" alla parete rocciosa, non vi sono dubbi. Perché? Perché la "texture" ed il colore é/sono completamente diversa/i (e questo é un fatto).
Noi distinguiamo nettamente una "Struttura Tentacolare" (che ci ricorda "Alien", in verità...). Sembra una sorta di "polpo" (od un "Ragno", od anche un "Granchio", ma di un qualche tipo "Esotico" - NON Terrstre) che sta attaccato alla roccia.
Come sempre: é una svista? Un gioco (pazzesco) di luci ed ombre? E' un'Anomalia della roccia stessa? O é "qualcosa" d'altro?!? Scrivete...MareKromiumFeb 13, 2020
