APOLLO 17 AS 17-145-22169-B.jpgAS 17-145-22169 - Moon Panorama (detail mgnf)213 visiteLa definizione è buona ma, a quanto possiamo vedere attraverso l'ingrandimento (ed osservando la porzione di esso che si trova a ridosso del piccolo macigno interrato), si tratta di un corpo non piatto, ma leggermente concavo (o "imbarcato"), molto simile nella forma alle tegole delle vecchie case (una tegola grigia, anzichè rossa od arancione, ma pur sempre una tegola...).
Studiando l'immagine, comprendiamo che gli Astronauti dovrebbero aver notato questo "oggetto", poichè si sono sicuramente avvicinati ad esso (le impronte sono eloquenti); ciò che è impossibile dire è se si tratta di un qualcosa messo lì da loro stessi (ed in quel caso si tratterebbe di un oggetto - forse un involucro? - fatto dall'Uomo e che va a ricadere nella generale definizione di "spazzatura lunare") o se invece questa "tegola grigia" è un oggetto "indigeno" della Luna (e se così fosse, escludendo - quasi ovviamente - la sua origine naturale, le implicazioni sarebbero incredibili...).
Che dire? Il Sig. Canobbio è stato bravissimo e, se di scoperta si tratta, la scoperta è sua.
A nostro avviso - ma ora stiamo speculando e ne siamo consapevoli - questo oggetto potrebbe non essere "man-made"...

Seen from planet Earth, contrasting sections of bright walls against the dark floors by chance look remarkably like an X. This sharp image of the Lunar "X" was captured at approx. 11:59 UT on March 3, 2009.
