Ero a Bologna, alla facoltà di Medicina, lontano da casa e con l'onere e l'eccitazione di dovermi e potermi gestire la mia vita in piena libertà. Mi sentivo importante e vivevo con la consapevolezza di stare facendo qualcosa di importante. Ricordo che guardavo il mondo come qualcosa che potevo controllare e prendere. La formazione che quegli studi mi stavano dando, mi fecero cominciare a guardare all’uomo in modo diverso; non più individui con chissà quali realtà, ma corpi di cui cominciavo a conoscere debolezze e limiti e dove l’unica differenza la fa circa un chilo e mezzo di poltiglia grigia. Non riuscivo a vedere più belle donne o uomini importanti dentro la loro giacca di lana rasata, ma solo ossa, gomitoli di intestini, piedi deformati infilati dentro eleganti scarpe alla moda e così via.
Questo modo di guardare gli "Uomini" purtroppo non mi ha più abbandonato, ma mi ha aiutato a spogliare il mondo dalle apparenze ed a compatire quelli che, questo mondo, lo guardano dall’alto in basso, credendo d’essere o volendo solo far credere di essere chissà chi.
Sognavo importanti traguardi per il mio futuro, non mi occupavo di politica, ma già allora non mi piaceva il modo in cui spesso la gente sta insieme. Avevo un gran bisogno di parlare e di coinvolgere chi mi stava vicino ma, a quel tempo, ero anche molo immaturo, forse perché ancora senza esperienze e con poche idee chiare.
Non credo che siano in molti, a vent’anni, ad avere le credenziali che facciano di loro uomini e donne, mi disse di rimando. E’ un’età ingrata in cui il corpo, che ha quasi ultimato la sua crescita, ti inganna facendoti credere di essere diventato adulto e abbastanza forte da poter prendere il mondo in mano. E’ l’età in cui si commettono gli sbagli più gravi, quelli che condizioneranno poi, il resto della vita…”
