Fienga - Lunar Explorer Italia)57 visiteCaption NASA originale:"This MGS-MOC image shows windblown ripples on the floor of Auqakuh Vallis.
The light-toned area, running diagonally across the scene from South-West to North-East, may be dust that has accumulated in the bottom of the valley and on top of the ripples".

Location near: 31,3° North; 299,3° West
Image width: ~3 Km (~1,9 mi)
Illumination from: lower left

Nessuna Anomalia, solo una serie di tre bellissime immagini.

Channels-Evros_Vallis-MGS.JPGEvros Vallis (Original NASA/MGS/MSSS b/w Frame)58 visiteCaption NASA originale:"This MGS-MOC image shows a small portion of Evros Vallis, an ancient Channel located South of the large Impact Basin, Schiaparelli. In this image, the Walls and Floor of the Valley, as well as the adjacent upland, are all mantled by Dust. In addition to the Dust Mantle, large, windblown Ripples occur in low-lying areas, particularly on the Valley Floor. The Ripples, also, have been covered by Dust".

Channels-Inverted_Channels_in_Arabia_Terra-PIA03643-00.jpgInverted channels of Arabia Terra (1 - Original NASA/MGS/MSSS b/w Frame)54 visiteOriginal caption:"This MGS-MOC image shows a somewhat sinuous, nearly flat-topped Ridge, located in Eastern Arabia Terra. The ridgetop was once the Floor of a Valley, perhaps carved by running water. The Valley Floor, or material that covered the Floor, was more resistant to erosion than the surrounding rock into which the Valley was cut. Thus, over time, the Valley disappeared and its Floor was left standing high as a Ridge. Inverted Valleys are common on Mars, but they also occur on Earth".

The Trough probably formed by collapse (collapse--->geol. "cedimento" del terreno). Large, dark Boulders can be seen on the Trough Floor in this Volcanic Region. The image is located near 24,4° North Lat. and 210,4° West Long. The image covers an area about 3 km (approx. 1,9 mi) wide and sunlight illuminates the scene from the lower left".
