The red sky in the background and the blue around the Sun are approximately as they would appear to the human eye. The color of the Sun itself is not right - the Sun was over exposed in each of the 3 color images that were used to make this picture - and it might be near white or slightly bluish.

SOU-SOL024-2.jpgSunset (2) - Sol 2480 visiteThis image of the Martian sunset from Sol 24 shows much more color variation than had previously been seen. The blue color near the Sun is not caused by clouds of water ice, but by the Martian dust itself. The dust in the atmosphere absorbs blue light, giving the sky its red color, but it also scatters some of the blue light into the area just around the Sun because of its size. The blue color only becomes apparent near Sunrise and Sunset, when the light has to pass through the largest amount of dust.

Da notarsi due cose: la prima attiene, come sempre, ai colori del paesaggio (incoerenti rispetto ad altre immagini simili o identiche); la seconda, i "nomi" dati dai Tecnici NASA alla maggior parte delle surface features oggetto di studio. Nomi che, come abbiamo detto in altra Sezione, sembrano essere stati estratti da giornali a fumetti per bambini. Semplificazione e volont di rendere i dati accessibili a tutti o semplice tentativo di banalizzazione? Non facile rispondere.

O, se Vi piace di pi, di "prova" (sic!) dell'esistenza di "rovine artificiali" nei pressi del Landing Site della Sonda Soujourner-Pathfinder.
Noi, che siamo un pizzico pi razionali (e meno - commercialmente - motivati...), Vi diciamo che questo rilievo ad "elevata riflettenza" , effettivamente, curioso (tanto curioso che pure gli Amici di Pasadena lo hanno fotografato pi volte...). Ma da qui a fare le speculazioni (assurde) di Hoagland... ce ne passa!
Diciamo che si tratta di qualcosa di "strano" e di "intrigante". Forse (davvero) un grosso cristallo (?). Forse l'Heat-Shield di Soujourner-Pathfinder (la Back-Shell, gi individuata, molto vicina al luogo di Landing della Sonda).
O forse non nulla di tutto ci (magari - chiss... - un "qualcosa di non locale"...).
La Verit, si sa, va "guadagnata". Non la si pu "divinare", anche se - qualche volta - la si pu intuire.
Noi suggeriamo di guardare con "occhi chiari" e "mente open" quello che i frames ci mostrano. Guardare, studiare, ipotizzare (possibilmente senza "sparare a caso"...) e poi...E poi attendere.
Il resto, le risposte - se risposte ci saranno - nelle mani del Futuro.MareKromium

SOU-SOL013-1.jpgBoulder Field - Sol 1368 visiteThis enhanced color image mosaic of the area south of the lander was made using images acquired in the mid-morning of Sol 13 by the IMP camera as part of the Super-Pan data set.
At each camera frame position, a Super-Pan image contains 15 frames (6 frames for 3-color stereo and 9 more individual narrow color bands). This mammoth color and stereo data set will be used to derive high quality topographic maps of the surface and detailed shapes of rocks and other surface features, and to map subtle chemical, mineralogical, and textural variations on rocks and soils. Red, green, and blue filter images from the right eye were combined to simulate slightly amplified natural color. The rocks Squid, Ender, Hassock, and a portion of Wedge are visible in the center-right portion of the mosaic. Mermaid Dune and Bosco rock are visible in the middle-left. The foreground contains portions of the airbags and the top of the low-gain antenna on the lander.
The rim of the impact crater "Big Crater" is visible in the upper-left on the horizon.

Le considerazioni da svolgere sono le solite. In questo caso Vi offriamo il commento originale al frame: "Each of these panoramic views is a controlled mosaic of approximately 300 IMP images covering 360 of azimuth and elevations from approximately 4 above the horizon to 45 below it. Simultaneous adjustment of orientations of all images has been performed to minimize discontinuities between images. Mosaics have been highpass-filtered and contrast-enhanced to improve discrimination of details without distorting relative colors overall.
TOP IMAGE: Enhanced true-color image created from the "Gallery Pan" sequence, acquired on Soles 8-10 so that Local Solar Time (LST) increases nearly continuously from about 10:00 (right edge) up to about 12:00 (left). BOTTOM IMAGE: Anaglyphic stereoimage created from the "Monster Pan" sequence, acquired in 4 sections between about 8:30 and 15:00 LST on Sol 3".

Questo oggetto lo stesso (da un punto di vista meccanico/costruttivo) che Spirit ha incontrato "sulla via di Bonneville" - e cio un "rottame spaziale", perso durante le operazioni di landing, oppure, in entrambi i casi, esso l'evidenza oggettiva di una Presenza Aliena nei pressi del Landing Site?
Oppure questo oggetto effettivamente la Backshell della Sonda Pathfinder, mentre la Silver Sphere incontrata da Spirit "qualcos'altro"?
