Non ci sembra di rilevare alcun tipo di anomalia in questa immagine; l'unica cosa che ci sembra poco credibile, nonostante la NASA abbia rubricato questo frame come eseguito in "almost true colors", è proprio nel particolare colore di fondo assunto dalla superficie Marziana.
L'arancione è molto luminoso e l'immagine, nonostante il livello di particolari visibili risulti alquanto elevato, sembra - in qualche modo - leggermente "velata". Non vi è traccia di "berries".

Opportunity spent several Martian Days analyzing a feature called Lemon Rind, a thin surface layer covering portions of outcrop rocks poking through the sand north of Erebus Crater. In images from the PanCam, Lemon Rind appears slightly different in color than surrounding rocks. It also appears to be slightly more resistant to wind erosion than the outcrop's interior. This is an approximately true-color composite produced from frames taken during Opportunity's 552nd Sol (Aug. 13, 2005)".

(false colors)114 visiteGrazie alla fantasia e ad una buona dose di inventiva di qualche Collaboratore del Sito "Mars Daily", abbiamo il piacere di offrirVi questa visione in falsi (ma comunque credibili) colori delle tracce lasciate dal Rover Opportunity durante il suo cammino verso il Vostok Crater.
In questo frame, in maniera particolare, si possono vedere ancora bene le pareti esterne del Cratere Endurance. Eravamo nel Sol 367 di Opportunity.
