A-IN-SIGHT_00.jpgHere is the Lander!134 visiteInSight (acronym for "Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport"), is a Mars Lander designed to give the Red Planet its first thorough checkup. It is the first Outer Space Robotic Explorer to study in-depth the "inner space" of Mars: its crust, mantle, and core.
The "InSight" Lander uses cutting edge instruments, to delve deep beneath the Surface and seek the fingerprints of the processes that formed the terrestrial planets.
It does so by measuring the Planet's "vital signs": its "pulse" (seismology), "temperature" (heat flow), and "reflexes" (such as: precision tracking).
This Project is part of NASA's Discovery Program for highly focused science missions that ask critical questions related to the Solar System.MareKromium

IN-SOL0531.pngElysium Surface - Sol 531134 visiteLe mmagini inviateci dal Lander "In-Sight" sono, di fatto e sostanzialmente, tutte quasi uguali. Nulla di che da evidenziare e, quindi, ne pubblico poche. Sicuramente i dati sismici e pressori sono interessanti (ma attendo ancora un p di tempo prima di pubblicare e commentare); le immagini, tuttavia ed a mio umile avviso, servono davvero a poco (se non a guardare il Cielo di Marte che pure sembra - almeno a questa Latitudine e da questo posto - non cambiare mai - salva qualche semi-impercettibile nuvoletta).
Peccato davvero che non ci sia un Rover in loco...MareKromium

Nota: guardate i colori della Superficie in questa immagine ("Naturali", ossia "Autentici", "come li vedrebbe un Essere Umano", secondo la NASA) e poi guardate quelli dell'immagine ottenuta 10 Soles pi tardi. Anche questi ultimi dovrebbero essere sempre "Naturali".
Vi sembrano identici?
InSight, come sapete, NON si muove. Potrebbe essere un effetto dell'illuminazione solare (qui il Sole pi alto rispetto al frame del Sol 343). Oppure noi abbiamo le idee confuse sui "Colori" della Superficie di Elysium (e pu pure essere, ci mancherebbe).MareKromium
