Xmas_Truce_1914.jpgThat Day of Peace of 107 years ago214 visiteThere are times when people simply forget what they are made of and other moments when we remember the "Legacy" that should limk us all.
Today, December 24th 2021, We decided, as Lunar Explorer Italia, to wish you a Peaceful Christmas Eve and a serene Christmas Day. And, to do so, we decided to forget the Planets and the Stars for a day, and make a jump back in time. This Historical Event that we wish to remember is worldwide known as "The Christmas Truce" of 1914.
It seemed (and, perhaps, it still seems) impossible that anything like that might have happened during those war times and in those circumstances. But the "Miracle" of Christmas did happen, and we should remember it (once again) and be proud of that unbelievanle event which took place 107 years ago.
And perhaps we should remember it NOW more than ever. As you all know, we live a period where pain, death, violence and even a thick feeling of hopelessness and diffuse paranoia seem to have flooded our World.
We must look forward, of course. But, sometime, in order to walk toward a better Future, it might be good thing to look at a now far and distant past.
We want to remember that Night of the AD 1914, the Men who made the Miracle to happen a we wish a new Miracle to come, all over the Earth, by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the infinite Galaxies of the Universe shine bright for you all, whoever you are and wherever you live. Tonight, tomorrow and through the Time that will come. Merry Christmas!

Since this solstice marked the northernmost point of the Sun's annual motion through planet Earth's sky, the full Moon rising near the ecliptic plane opposite the Sun was at its farthest south for the year. Only a month earlier, on May 23rd, astronomer Anthony Ayiomamitis recorded this picture of another southerly full Moon rising above Cape Sounion, Greece. The twenty-four hundred year old Temple of Poseidon lies in the foreground, also visible to sailors on the Aegean Sea. In this well-planned, single exposure, a long telephoto lens makes the Moon loom large, but even without optical aid casual skygazers often find the full Moon looking astonishingly large when seen near the horizon.
That powerful visual effect is known as the Moon Illusion".

PossibleImpacts.jpgIs "Something" going on?213 visiteUna piccola "provocazione", basata su dati oggettivi, che già rimbalza nella mente di tantissimi Ricercatori ed Appassionati: sta succedendo qualcosa nel nostro Sistema Solare?
Un impatto certo (e recentissimo) su Giove; un possibile impatto su Venere; un Evento Ignoto su Marte (eruzione? Impatto?) ed un altro Evento Ignoto del quale - forse - parleremo in futuro.
Tutti eventi recenti, tutti eventi "imprevisti", tutti eventi - in sè - molto violenti e potenzialmente sconvolgenti - se rivolti verso il nostro Pianeta.
La domanda è semplice: è sempre stato così (solo che non ce ne accorgevamo, perchè non avevamo i mezzi adeguati per "spiare" gli Eventi che occorrono nei recessi dei nostri Cieli), oppure qualcosa sta cambiando (o è già cambiata) negli Equilibri del Sistema Solare?

HD 70642.jpgPlanetary System around Star HD 70642209 visite"...Una volta, in gioventù, durante una lezione di Religione, il Professore ci parlò - e non so proprio per quale motivo egli si sentì in dovere di addentrarsi in un simile labirinto concettuale - dei Dogmi.
Fu una lunghissima prolusione e alla fine, dopo aver a lungo e faticosamente peregrinato intorno a questi astrusi principii, ci chiese se, prendendo spunto da quanto aveva detto lui, noi ci fossimo fatti una qualche idea.
Magari quella di un "Nuovo Dogma", da aggiungere agli altri.
Io alzai la mano.
Il Professore sorrise, si avvicinò e mi chiese se avevo pensato bene, prima di propinare al resto della classe un possibile "Nuovo Dogma". Gli dissi che ci avevo pensato benissimo, e parlai: "credo - dissi - che il Dogma di cui lei si è dimenticato di parlarci attenga la "Inverificabilità" di tutti gli altri Dogmi".
Il Professore rimase completamente inerte, come folgorato..."
"E poi? Che cosa successe?"
"Successe che mi diede uno schiaffo e mi buttò fuori dall'aula...".
