Facendo un passo indietro: nei due frames precedenti, rocce dalle forme assolutamente originali costellano il panorama intorno a Spirit.
Ne abbiamo viste alcune che "sembrano" teste e braccia di statue raffiguranti strane creature. Secondo noi sono solo rocce, però non si sa mai...Voi riuscite a vedere qualcosa di davvero "Anomalo"?

SOL082-HEAD-2P133646779EFF2232P2361R1M1.jpgBoulders field (1)326 visiteNon sono necessarie temperature sotto lo zero (bastano temperature anche di + 4/5°C) per rendersi conto che il terreno è duro come granito, difficilissimo da bucare, anche usando il piccone o altri strumenti adeguati (e se non ci credete, provateci!). Ebbene la nostra Sonda Spirit, usando una piccola pala meccanica (che è capace di esercitare pressioni davvero risibili), è capace di scavare, con estrema semplicità, buchi e solchi profondissimi nel terreno.
Strano, vero?!?
Ci sono alcune foto nella Sezione Mars in Colors che, forse, illustrano meglio quanto detto adesso (p.e.: guardate i solchi che le ruote del Rover Opportunity riescono rapidamente e semplicemente a scavare nell'Area di Meridiani Planum).
