Ecco un altro punto che accende, in qualche maniera, i sospetti: se questa Sfera è un rottame spaziale (Americano o Sovietico poco importa adesso) oppure un altro pezzettino della Sonda Spirit che si è "rotto" ed è precipitato durante la discesa, che bisogno c'è di continuare a fotografarlo? Cos'ha di tanto interessante un qualcosa fatto da "noi", che - forse - non ha funzionato bene del tutto e che non merita neppure una riga di commento fra le centinaia di pagine che compongono il Sito NASA dedicato ai Rover Spirit ed Opportunity?

E' questo lo stesso oggetto che la NASA ha detto essere la Sonda Viking 1 mentre precitava, dopo più di vent'anni di onorato servizio?
No! L'oggetto di cui parla la NASA è in un'altra foto, del tutto diversa da questa e che potete vedere più avanti (cfr "Another Spirit in the sky?").
E allora che cosa dobbiamo pensare? Che le Sonde vecchie che orbitavano tranquillamente intorno a Marte da anni hanno deciso tutte, improvvisamente, di iniziare a precipitare?

Faccin)351 visiteOltre questo livello di ingrandimento - senza poi distruggere la ancora eccellente qualità del frame - non si può andare. Ma quanto ci mostra questa straordinaria iper-magnificazione (realizzata dal nostro eccezionale Dr Faccin) è più che sufficiente per formulare delle ipotesi credibili.
Una su tutte: l'oggetto anomalo è effettivamente una sorta di parallelepipedo (circa 1,8 x 2,4 mt), a pianta quadrata, apparentemente abbastanza liscio e regolare e dall'albedo particolarmente alta (nettamente più alta di quella del resto del paesaggio).MareKromium

The view is looking toward the East, at "Tyrone", the light-toned soils exposed by the Rover's wheels. The Tyrone area proved difficult for Spirit to get through, so the Rover was commanded to traverse to "Low Ridge", the site of the winter campaign. Note the light-toned material in the wheel tracks generated as the Rover drove to the site. Several rock and soil targets are shown that were investigated with instruments on the Rover's Robotic Arm.
The McMurdo Panorama PIA01907 was acquired over several months while Spirit was on "Low Ridge". It required all of the camera's geology filters and covered 360° in azimuth".
