Se invece si trattasse della parte superiore di una struttura rocciosa più grande - e quasi completamente interrata - allora dovremmo armarci di pazienza e fantasia e quindi tentare di operare delle ardite speculazioni per ipotizzare quali processi (geologici ed/o atmosferici) abbiano potuto condurre alla realizzazione di una simile formazione.
A proposito, anche questa roccia è un déjà vu: la prima immagine ad essa relativa risale, infatti, al Sol 550 di Spirit. Ora, ammettendo che l'indicazione su ciascun frame del Sol nominale di riferimento sia corretta, dovremmo supporre che Spirit è femo da (almeno) 8 Soles.
Per adesso i commenti NASA (Spirit Update) si fermano al Sol 551: basta aspettare e verificheremo se la nostra congettura è esatta o meno.
