At the North Pole and for all places above the arctic circle, there will be no night -- the entire day today will be lit by sunlight. The situation is reversed in Earth's Southern Hemisphere, where today has the least sunlight of any day. Today's solstice is commemorated above by a well-planned picture of our five billion year old Sun rising behind the 2500 year old Parthenon in Greece. Trees and birds occupy the foreground, while a modern crane is shown restoring parts of this historic symbol of a cultural civilization".MareKromium

Captured in this dramatic picture on April 6th, 2008, from Bretagne, France, the Moon was only 15 h. and 38' old.
Its slight, irregular, sunlit arc opens upward just above the dark cloud bank near picture center. Of course, a crescent Moon in the early evening sky is a lovely sight often enjoyed by many. But finding the Moon when its slim crescent is still less than about 24 hours past the New Moon phase requires careful timing and planning, a challenging project even for experienced observers.
In this sighting, only about 0,8% of the Moon's disk appears illuminated.
Laveder notes that this is the youngest Moon he has spotted in 20 years of skygazing".MareKromium

Oltre le nostre idee, le nostre paure, le nostre ipotesi e le nostre convinzioni.
Ti faccio un esempio: se, un giorno, mi capitasse di imbattermi in una scala che, poggiata sulla terra nuda, si alza verso l'Infinito, non credo che mi porrei troppe domande sulla sua Origine ed i suoi Scopi.
Penso che la guarderei, per qualche istante, e poi inizierei a salire, così, un gradino dopo l'altro, senza guardare giù...
Così: tanto per vedere sino a che punto sarei capace di arrivare, prima di sentire un brivido scorrere lungo la schiena ed il collo, e quindi rendermi conto che il mio Tempo, al pari del mio Cammino, è finito..."
