EOD.jpgShards of a Planet128 visiteComunicazione ai Lettori di Lunar Explorer Italia: a partire - formalmente - da oggi, 22 Giugno 2011, è cessata ogni collaborazione tra la nostra Fondazione ed il Sito "PianetaMarte.net", gestito dal Sig. Matteo Fagone.
La decisione, triste ma necessaria, è divenuta inevitabile a causa della - ormai - profondissima diversità di vedute, approcci, stili, argomenti e collaborazioni esistente fra le due Entità in questione. Rammentiamo, per onor del vero, oltre che per Correttezza (Virtù sempre più rara), che fu lo stesso Sig. Fagone, circa due mesi fa, a chiedere la cancellazione (come Partner e come "link" in uscita) del Suo nome e del Suo Sito da Lunar Explorer Italia.
I motivi della Sua richiesta non vennero precisati, ma questo non ha più importanza.
Per quanto attiene i nostri motivi, possiamo solo dire che una Partnership, piccola o grande che sia, per mantenersi e sostenersi necessita, come sanno tutti, di alcuni elementi essenziali, tra cui evidenziamo, ad esempio: la Comunione di Intenti e di Vedute, la Compatibilità degli Approcci adottati e dei Fini perseguiti nonchè una sostanziale "affinità" di Sensibilità e Culture.
Ebbene, tutto questo, da ormai molto tempo, non esisteva più tra PianetaMarte.net e Lunar Explorer Italia e quindi la decisione di cancellare anche formalmente la predetta Partnership a noi sembra, oltre che inevitabile, anche giusta e corretta.
Auguriamo (ed auguro, personalmente) il meglio al Sig. Fagone ed alla Sua "Creatura" PianetaMarte.net, e siamo/sono certi/o che le Sue scelte e filosofie, recenti e meno recenti, lo ripagheranno adeguatamente e pienamente.

But the Science of Asteroseismology can explore the conditions there. The technique is to time the small variations in a star's brightness measured by the planet hunting Kepler Spacecraft. Regular variations indicate Stellar Oscillations, analogous to sound waves, that compress and decompress the gas causing brightness changes.
As recently discovered in Red Giant Stars, some of the Oscillations detected have periods that would cause them to penetrate to the Stellar Core. In that extreme environment they actually become more intense and can return to the Surface. These Echoes from the Red Giant's Core are illustrated in this frame from a computer generated animation. Remarkably, the periods measured for the Oscillations can even indicate how and where the Red Giant Star's energy production, by Hydrogen or Helium fusion, is taking place".MareKromiumApr 10, 2011

To find them, Kepler monitors a rich Starfield to identify Planetary Transits by the slight dimming of starlight caused by a Planet crossing the face of its Parent Star. In this remarkable illustration, all of Kepler's Planet Candidates are shown in transit with their parent stars ordered by size from top left to bottom right. Simulated stellar disks and the silhouettes of transiting planets are all shown at the same relative scale, with saturated star colors.
Of course, some stars show more than one planet in transit, but you may have to examine the picture at High Resolution to spot them all. For reference, the Sun is shown at the same scale, by itself below the top row on the right.

Papà, che fu Servitore dello Stato per oltre quarant'anni, era Uomo di poche parole - al pari del sottoscritto - e quindi, per Onorarlo a modo, io non starò qui a raccontare storie ed aneddoti (anche se ce ne sarebbero parecchi...).
"Non chiacchiere, ma fatti. Le chiacchiere, figlio mio, sono buoni tutti a farle. I fatti invece, come imparerai, no"
Questo mi ha detto ed insegnato Papà, in svariate circostanze. Io sono d'accordo con lui e quindi quello che farò è andare avanti sulla strada che Lui mi ha indicato: la strada dei fatti. Delle azioni. Del lavoro (magari ingrato, ma sempre e comunque svolto al meglio e con la più grande Onestà).
Lunar Explorer Italia è nata, fondamentalmente, grazie al Suo aiuto.
E Lunar Explorer Italia, nel Suo Nome e nel Suo Ricordo, continuerà ad andare avanti.
