The full-circle panorama in approximately true color shows the polygonal patterning of ground at the landing area, similar to patterns in permafrost areas on Earth. The center of the image is the westward part of the scene. Trenches where Phoenix's robotic arm has been exposing subsurface material are visible in the right half of the image. The spacecraft's meteorology mast, topped by the telltale wind gauge, extends into the sky portion of the panorama.
This view comprises more than 100 different camera pointings, with images taken through three different filters at each pointing. It is presented here as a cylindrical projection".MareKromiumAgo 09, 2008

"Guarda l'anemometro mentre oscilla, spinto dagli ora lievi, ed ora intensi venti che spirano sulla Pianura di Vastitas Boreale.......Rilassati e lascia andare la tua mente.......le tue palpebre si fanno pesanti.......pesantissime......i muscoli del tuo corpo sono completamente distesi.......tu stai dormanedo, sereno,ma la tua mente è aperta, attiva e recettiva....... ascoltami.......ascoltami attentamente........su Marte non c'è nulla da cercare......è un mondo morto.....da sempre...... smettila di investigare.......il tuo corpo sta fluttuando e la tua mente è finalmente libera da false idee ed illusioni...... smettila di pensare ai colori di Marte....Marte è rosso....molto rosso.....tutti gli altri colori che credi di vedere, esistono solo nella tua immaginazione....sei rilassato e felice: adesso hai tutte le risposte che volevi....quando ti sveglierai non ricorderai nulla, ma il tuo inconscio saprà che Marte è un mondo vuoto, morto e rosso....e non c'è un tubo da cercare........ora sei felice e, lentamente, ti stai svegliando.....allo schiocco delle mie dita aprirai gli occhi ed una senzazione di benessere avvolgerà tutto il tuo corpo...fai attenzione a quello che ti ho detto...e smettila di cercare cose che non esistono.... e piantala di vedere colori che non ci sono......e soprattutto dacci un taglio con le tue idee sul cover-up e la congiura del silenzio.......Marte è un mondo rosso, vuoto e morto.....Non c'è nulla da cercare.....
