00-MRO-front-view_br~0.jpgHere is the "Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter"105 visiteThis artist's concept of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter features the spacecraft's main bus facing down, toward the red planet. The large silver circular feature above the spacecraft bus is the high-gain antenna, the spacecraft's main means of communicating with both Earth and other spacecraft. The long, thin pole behind the bus is the SHARAD antenna. Seeking liquid or frozen water, SHARAD will probe the subsurface using radar waves at a 15-25 MHz frequency band, "seeing" in the first few hundreds of feet (up to 1 kilometer) of Mars' crust. The large instrument (covered in black thermal blanketing) in the center is the HiRISE camera. This powerful camera will provide the highest-resolution images from orbit to date.
The other easily visible instruments are: the Electra telecommunications package which is the gold-colored instrument directly left of the HiRISE camera. It will act as a communications relay and navigation aid for Mars spacecraft. To the right of the HiRISE camera is the Context Imager (CTX).

Echus Chasma contains several Valleys which range - as far as their depth is concerned - from about 1 to 4 Km, and it is now considered, by Planetary Scientists, to be the Water Source Region that allowed the formation and then the (relevant) water-supply of the Kasei Valles Outflow Channel: a large Valley that extends for thousands of kilometers towards the North of the Red Planet.

Fienga/Lunar Explorer Italia/Italian Planetary Foundation)63 visiteThe really huge Landslides existing along the Walls of Ophir Chasma (which is nothing else but a deep Canyon located in the Coprates Quadrangle of Mars, at about 4° South Latitude and 72,5° West Longitude. It is approx. 317 km long and it was so named after a "Classical Albedo Feature") host a variety of Geologic Surfaces and Mineralogies.
Some of them possess a variety of Hydrated Sulfate Minerals that formed, eons ago, in the presence of Partially Acidic Liquid Water. This NASA - Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's Contextual (or "CTX", for short) Image, which is representing an ancient (possibly and approximately 3 Billion Years-old) Landslide, shows us the presence, within it, of 2 (two) very distinct Surface Albedoes, which, in fact, mark a Transition Zone from one Sulfate Mineralogy to another (a circumstance that proves beyod doubts the occurrence, in a far and distant past, of some remarkable variations in the evolution of the visible Surface).
The Upper Slopes (such as the ones located towards the North) are light-toned, and this fact is due to the concurrent abundance of Hydrated Sulfate Minerals and Bright Surface Dust. On the other hand, the Surfaces that make up the Southern Portion of the Landslide, are darker in tone, and this is due to the greater abundance of Dark Sediment that, in time, formed "Strings of Sand Drifts" (extremely well visible in this Extra Detail Magnification). In addition to the above, the underlying Units of Bedrock consist of Darker Minerals that received a lesser hydration then the Northern ones, and this further circumstance implies the occurrence of a strong (and, perhaps, sudden) change in the Ancient Aqueous Environments that formed them.

Chasma_Boreale-Psp_001412_2650_red-00~0.jpgChasma Boreale: the Martian "Pentagon" and other unusual surface features (1)119 visiteUn modestissimo esempio (si fa per dire...) di Anomalìa di Superficie sul Pianeta Rosso: siamo nella Regione conosciuta come Chasma Boreale. Un frame bello, senza dubbio, ma privo di interesse.
Privo di interesse?!? Ne siamo/siete certi?!?
Ma no, certo che no! Basta un minimo di "occhio" e di attenzione, infatti, per scoprire alcuni rilievi che non hanno davvero nulla di usuale e che, quindi, sono interessanti per definizione.
Eccoli qui (dall'alto in basso):
1) un doppio cratere da doppio impatto (...sic...) - a forma di "8" - con/su "piedistallo";
2) un cratere a forma PENTAGONALE (quasi) REGOLARE e
3) un rilievo ad ANGOLO RETTO (che abbiamo definito "L-shaped") all'interno di un altro cratere.
Ora, a noi vanno bene gli Scrittori di Fantascienza (tipo Hoagland e Discepoli) i quali vedono manufatti ed artificialità ovunque, però ci sorprende che questi "Fenomeni" non riescano a vedere delle Anomalìe di simile portata! Insomma: costoro vedono le "pagliuzze", ma NON VEDONO LE TRAVI!!!
Certo, parlare di "piramidi" ed altre scemenze simili fa audience&business, siamo d'accordo. Ma allora - per favore - smettetela di dire che "cercate la Verità"!
La Verità è che di rilievi (a dir poco) anomali, su Marte (e non solo), ce ne sono migliaia e non si tratta, purtroppo per Voi, delle solite "facce" e delle immancabili "piramidi". Si tratta di rilievi i quali FANNO A PUGNI con la Geologia Convenzionale, le Meccaniche da impatto e tanti altri precetti della Scienza Consolidata. Quella Scienza che viene usata solo quando fa comodo e solo da coloro che possono disporre del supporto di mezzi di comunicazione di massa.
Volete parlare di Anomalìe Marziane? Guardate questo frame ed il successivo detail mgnf! Non c'è bisogno di Cydonia & dintorni (o delle pseudo-fotografie ESA) per porsi delle domande "intelligenti, affascinanti ed indiscrete"...MareKromium
