Ne avevamo accennato in un articolo di qualche tempo fa ("True Colors"), avevamo gi speso qualche parola al riguardo in sede di commento ad alcuni frames Marziani colorizzati dalla NASA, ma adesso abbiamo un'immagine - davvero - INEQUIVOCABILE: guardate che cosa succede alla meravigliosa ed ultramoderna citt di Sidney, durante una tempesta che ha sollevato sino ad una quota - ritaniamo - significativa (forse oltre i 1500/2000 metri) le sabbie giallo-arancio-ocra del Deserto.
Che dire? A volte Marte assomiglia alla Terra ed a volte la Terra assomiglia a Marte.
Ma una cosa, a nostro avviso, certa: queste condizioni di Tau sono una rarit. Sia sulla Terra e sia - molto probabilmente - su Marte (le Grandi Tempeste di Sabbia, sul Pianeta Rosso, occorrono con una certa frequenza, ma la loro intensit (almeno per quanto ne sappiamo) raramente giunge a risultati cromatici cos spettacolari.
Secondo la NASA, invece, Marte dovrebbe essere COSTANTEMENTE in queste condizioni (cos come le fotografie processate in True ed Approximately True Colors dai Ragazzi di Pasadena sembrano voler dimostrare).
La Verit? Noi non la conosciamo. Ma questo frame, ne siamo certi, Vi pu aiutare a capire tantissime cose...

Skylab-1973.jpgThe "unforgettable" Skylab...93 visiteDa "NASA - Picture of the Day", del 29 Aprile 2006:"Skylab was an orbiting laboratory launched by NASA in May 1973. Skylab, pictured above, was visited 3 times by NASA Astronauts who sometimes stayed as long as two and a half months. Many scientific tests were performed on Skylab, including astronomical observations in ultraviolet and X-ray light. Some of these observations yielded valuable information about Comet Kohoutek, our Sun and about the mysterious X-ray Background Radiation that (apparently) comes from all over the sky.
Skylab fell back to Earth on July, 11, 1979".
