Mars through the eyes of Soujourner-Pathfinder

Questo oggetto è lo stesso (da un punto di vista meccanico/costruttivo) che Spirit ha incontrato "sulla via di Bonneville" - e cioè un "rottame spaziale", perso durante le operazioni di landing, oppure, in entrambi i casi, esso è l'evidenza oggettiva di una Presenza Aliena nei pressi del Landing Site?
Oppure questo oggetto è effettivamente la Backshell della Sonda Pathfinder, mentre la Silver Sphere incontrata da Spirit è "qualcos'altro"?

The conical Backshell above the Lander contains 3 solid rocketmotors each providing about a ton of force for over 2". They are activated by the computer in the Lander. Electrical wires that run up the bridle close relays in the Backshell which ignite the 3 rockets at the same instant. The brief firing of the solid rocketmotors at an altitude of 80-100 meters is intended to essentially bring the downward movement of the Lander to a halt some 12 meters above the Surface. The bridle separating the Lander and Heat-Shield is then cut in the Lander, resulting in the Backshell driving up and into the Parachute under the residual impulse of the rockets, while the Lander, encased in airbags, falls to the Surface. The Backshell is to the S/E of the Lander, and in front and to the left of "Big Crater".

Nota: come fare a non dubitare dell'"onestà intellettuale" della NASA e dell'ESA allorchè abbiamo davanti delle immagini di Marte come questa - la quale sarà sicuramente brutta, ma altrettanto sicuramente è in "colori veri" - che, sebbene "vecchia" (ma MAI smentita!), risulta totalmente incongruente ed incomparabile con i nuovi ed extra-sofisticati frames in colori "quasi-veri" che arrivano da Spirit, Opportunity e Mars Express?
Se questa immagine - e tutte le altre che abbiamo visto e che vedremo - é/sono "sbagliata/e", perchè la NASA non lo ha scritto, da qualche parte? E se questa 'visione' di Marte, invece, è vera, come fare a spiegarla ed a renderla congruente con quello che vediamo oggi nei frames in arrivo da Meridiani Planum e Gusaev Crater?
Sbagliavamo "ieri", sbagliamo "oggi", sono entrambe visioni erronee o qual'è il problema?

SOU-SOL008-81429_full.jpg"Monster-Pan" in 3-D (1) - Sol 866 visiteDopo aver ricevuto un numero davvero consistente di richieste di frames tridimensionali, abbiamo pensato che il Monster-Pan (ossìa i dintorni del Rover Soujourner e della Sonda Pathfinder a 360°) potesse essere un qualcosa di veramente gradito ai nostri Amici Lettori.
Ecco dunque, direttamente dai NASA files relativi alla Missione Pathfinder, il "Monster-Pan" in 3-D.
ArmateVi di occhialini rosso-verdi e, credeteci, proverete una sensazione di straordinaria meraviglia quando Vi accorgerete che la Sonda Pathfinder NON era affatto atterrata in una zona piatta e monotona, bensì proprio nel bel mezzo di un'area fortemente accidentata e ricca di crateri, dossi, collinette ed outcrops.
