SOL082-2NN082EFF22CYP32P1767A000M1-A084R1_br2.jpgThe surroundings of Bonneville Crater (3D) - Sol 8256 visiteCaption NASA originale:"This 3-D cylindrical-perspective mosaic taken by the NavCam on the MER Spirit on Sol 82 shows the view south of the Bonneville Crater. The Rover will travel toward the Columbia Hills, seen here at the upper left. The rock dubbed Mazatzal and the hole the Rover drilled in to it can be seen at the lower left.
The Rover's position is referred to as "Site 22, Position 32".
This image was geometrically corrected to make the horizon appear flat".

SOL082-Mazatzal_Postrat1-A087R1.jpgMazatzal: after the grinding - Close-up in approximate true colors - Sol 8256 visiteCaption NASA originale:"This picture shows Mazatzal after the Rover drilled 3,8 mm (0,15 inches) into the target dubbed New York, on Sol 82. The dark grey coating seen after brushing remains on the right side of the hole, while the left side is the underlying basaltic rock.
This approximate true-color image was created using the PanCam's red, green and blue filters".
