Nota: la fotografia del materiale portato alla luce dal leggero scavo che verrà effettuato dal Rover la troverete - a colori approssimativamente veri - nella Sezione "Mars in Colors".
Si tratta di un'immagine interessante poichè, come vedrete, l'interno della mini-trincea evidenzierà una curiosa tessitura del sottosuolo Marziano ed un'altrettanto enigmatica colorazione verdastra di una minima porzione del terriccio smosso (anche se tal'ultima circostanza potrebbe essere il risultato di un vizio nell'elaborazione a colori del frame).

Forse perchè il Cratere Bonneville NON E' quello che si pensa (e cioè un Cratere da Impatto)...E, a proposito, ma dove è finito l'Heat-Shield? Da questa ripresa dovremmo comunque essere in grado di vederlo...

Il particolare su cui vorremmo attrarre la Vostra attenzione adesso, tuttavia, non richiede particolari strumenti per essere colto in tutta la sua...intrigante stranezza! E' davvero semplice da vedere e da valutare: osservate il lato alla Vostra Dx del frame, circa a mezza altezza. Una porzione dell'immagine è "coperta" da un rettangolo nero che, di regola, significa, "dati non trasmessi o non totalmente ricevuti". Adesso guardate attentamente il colore della superficie Marziana che si trova accanto al lato corto del "rettangolo nero" e proprio a ridosso del lato Sn della buca : l'area in questione sembra essere di un colore diverso (molto più chiaro) rispetto a tutto il resto del frame. Noi vediamo un color verde che sembra emergere dalla sabbia.
Photoartifact, difetto, errore di processo o cover-up?...
