OPP-SOL133-xpe_pubeng_approved_061004_133_fhaz-B135R1.jpgPerching on the edge... - Sol 13366 visiteSiamo alla 'porta' (anzi: sul 'bordo') di Endurance Crater e la Front HazCam del Rover ci regala questa meravigliosa ripresa che, nonostante presenti la consueta deformazione stroboscopica tipica di tutte le immagini provenienti dalla Front e dalla Rear HazCam, entra di pieno diritto nella Galleria dei "Top-10 Mars Frames" di tutti i tempi.

Questa ripresa (che arriva dalla Rear HazCam) ci mostra il paesaggio alle 'spalle' di Opportunity: il deserto arancione (o verdastro?) di Meridiani Planum - Marte.

OPP-SOL133-xpe_pubeng_approved_061004_134_fhaz-B135R1.jpgI'm going down... - Sol 13460 visiteUna delle operazioni più temute a Terra (per il rischio di 'scivolamenti' o di altri temibili - e potenzialmente irreversibili, ancorchè stupidi - incidenti) - e cioè il superamento del bordo e l'ingresso dentro il Cratere - è stata compiuta. E' passato un Sol dal passaggio del 'rim' ed ora, nella luce del tardo mattino Marziano, Opportunity sta guardando dritta verso il fondo di Endurance e, quindi, verso quella stranissima "melma" che, purtroppo, resterà un mistero.

I berries sono dappertutto; il cielo di Marte è sempre luminoso (o così pare...) e sgombro di nuvole. Con un pizzico di attenzione si possono già vedere le tracce delle ruote del Rover sulle lastre di pietra che adornano anche l'interno di Endurance Crater.

OPP-SOL135-ANOMALY-1N140164446EFF3168P1557L0M1~0.jpgThe "crystal cube", again... - Sol 135178 visitePer non essere un "oggetto" degno di spiegazione, l'interesse dimostrato dai Tecnici della NASA verso l'Anomalia di Superficie di cui abbiamo già parlato è davvero notevole: peccato però che, a fronte dell'effettuazione di un numero elevatissimo di riprese, non è stato espresso alcun commento ufficiale. Forse perchè neppure a Houston sanno di che cosa si tratti? Se così fosse, non vediamo il problema che ci sia ad ammetterlo...

Purtroppo però, ad oggi, ancora nessuna risposta (su questa, come su altre decine di domande). Peccato!...
