Oppure di cose enormi.
Molti pensano che si debbano effettuare centinaia di esperimenti, migliaia e migliaia di osservazioni, trovare "n" prove ed "n" controprove, confrontarle, poi verificare e riverificare il tutto cento o mille o chissà quante volte, prima di poter dire qualcosa.
Prima di parlare.
E questo Processo lo condividiamo: é giusto e sacrosanto.
Ma non basta.
Non basta perché c'é anche un altro lato del "Medaglione" della, chiamiamola così, "Libera" Ricerca (ossia quella non legata ad Enti ed Istituzioni più o meno famose): a volte basta davvero poco.
Pochissimo.
Quasi nulla.
Basta una piccola ed "insignificante" immagine, alle volte, per riuscire a capire qualcosa.
Non é semplice, lo sappiamo: ci vuole tanta Pazienza, Esperienza, "Colpo d'Occhio", Curiosità ed un pizzico di Immaginazione (che, nel Nostro Campo, vuol dire "provare a pensare oltre gli schemi imposti").
Basta un frame.
Uno di quelli che, se proprio si ha voglia, vengono osservati per un secondo e poi si passa al succesivo.
Nella mia "Carriera" di Libero Ricercatore, di frames ne ho visionati quasi 300.000 (ed a carissimo prezzo...).
E questo mi é valso a poco. Forse a nulla.
Sono stato insultato ed é stata insultata questa Fondazione. Da ignoti (perché mettere "nomi & cognomi" può costare e costa caro....).
Va bene: ho accettato questa Realtà. Ma sono andato avanti.
Siamo andati avanti.
Dopo quasi quattro anni di silenzio abbiamo ripreso a "macinare".
Ebbene, nel Nulla Assoluto che é la Libera Ricerca (Italiana in particolare, ma non solo), questo frame, lo abbiamo guardato per qualche momento in più. E, forse, ne é valsa la pena.
In questi giorni, i nostri "Amici" di Pasadena, Houston, del CalTech e di "n" Università, Americane e non, ci hanno assillati e bombardati con una serie di speculazioni "fantastiche"... Si va dalla "scoperta di aumenti Ciclici di Ossigeno e Metano" (la facciamo breve...) sul Pianeta Rosso, alla (come ovvio, sempre più che remota) speranza di trovare qualche Forma Vitale Microbiotica (o "Microbica", come volete Voi).
Magari anche qualche fossile.
E' proprio un saggio detto popolare quello che recita: "Chi é il vero Cieco? Quello che nasce senza occhi, o con occhi irrimediabilmente danneggiati, o forse quello che nasce con occhi perfetti e poi, messo davanti ad una Realtà che non può, non sa o non vuole comprendere, dice di non vedere alcunché?".
Penso che la risposta, come spesso accade nella Vita e nella Professione (quale che sia), giaccia proprio nella domanda.
In questo frame non si vede nulla di speciale, a prima vista, agendo con sufficienza e distrazione (due caratteristiche ormai tipiche degli "Scienziati" e dei "Cattedratici" di tutto il Mondo.
Eppure...Eppure si può analizzare. E poi sbagliare.MareKromium

This is the last panorama Opportunity acquired before the solar-powered MER succumbed to a Global Martian Dust Storm on the same abovementioned Sol. This version of the scene is presented in Approximate True Colors.
To the right (Dx) of center and near the top of the frame, the Rim of Endeavour Crater rises in the distance. Just to the left (Sx) of that, Rover Tracks begin their descent from over the horizon towards the location that would become Opportunity's final resting spot in Perseverance Valley, where the panorama was taken.
At the bottom, just left of center, is the Rocky Outcrop Opportunity was investigating with the instruments on its Robotic Arm (or RA, for short). To the right of center and halfway down the frame is another Rocky Outcrop — about 23 feet (such as abou 7 meters) distant from the camera — called "Ysleta del Sur," which Opportunity investigated from March 3 through 29, 2018, or Soles 5015 through 5038. In the far right and left of the frame are the bottom of Perseverance Valley and the Floor of Endeavour Crater.
Located on the inner Slopes of the Western Rim of Endeavour Crater, Perseverance Valley is a system of shallow Troughs descending eastward about the length of two football fields from the crest of Endeavour's Rim to its Floor.
This (note: they wrote Approximate) True-Color version combines images collected through three PanCam filters. The filters admit light centered on wavelengths of 753 nanometers (near-infrared), 535 nanometers (green) and 432 nanometers (blue). The three-color bands are combined.
A few frames (bottom left) remain black and white, as the solar-powered rover did not have the time to photograph those locations using the green and violet filters before a severe Mars-wide Dust Storm swept in on June 2018".MareKromium
