Going down, looking up! - Sol 134

Un'immagine che è già un "classico": mentre il Rover scende, la Rear Haz-Cam guarda verso l'alto, alle spalle di Opportunity, verso il sempre più lontano bordo del Cratere. I berries sono dappertutto; il cielo di Marte è sempre luminoso (o così pare...) e sgombro di nuvole. Con un pizzico di attenzione si possono già vedere le tracce delle ruote del Rover sulle lastre di pietra che adornano anche l'interno di Endurance Crater.

In this image, the Rover is pitched forward about 18° and the rear wheels are about 30 cm (about 12") below the rim of the Crater. The success of this engineering test of the slope and rock surface led Rover Planners to decide to proceed into the Crater for further scientific investigation".
