Juventae Chasma (High-Def-3D; credits: ESA) Spettacolare: un 3D assolutamente straordinario. Original caption:"These images, taken by the HR Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA’s Mars Express spacecraft, show the depression of Juventae Chasma, cut into the plains of Lunae Planum on Mars. The HRSC obtained these images during orbit 243 with a ground resolution of approximately 23,4 mt per pixel. The scenes show the region of Lunae Planum, at approximately 5° South and 297° East. The depression of Juventae Chasma, located North of Valles Marineris, cuts more than 5000 mt into the plains of Lunae Planum. The floor of Juventae Chasma is partly covered by dunes. In the valley, to the North-East, there is a mountain composed of bright, layered material. This mountain is approximately 2500 mt high, it has a length of 59 Km and a width of up to 23 Km. The OMEGA spectrometer on board Mars Express discovered sulphate on the surface of Mars and confirmed that this mountain is indeed composed of sulphate deposits". L'IMMAGINE IN QUESTO THREAD E' DA ESA MARS EXPRESS ED E' RELATIVA ALL'AREA J.C. QUELLA IN PROPOSED MSL SITE IN JUVENTAE CHASMA NON SO A QUALE ZONA DI J.C. APPARTENGA. SICURAMANTE NON HA NULLA A CHE VEDERE CON LA "PRESUNTA" SCRITTA DI CUI SI FA MENZIONE. F.to P.N. Di Falco

Egregio Dr Di Falco, noi le immagini le cataloghiamo sul Sito, a beneficio dei Lettori, usando lo schema NASA. Internamente - per il nostro archivio intendo -, le ordiniamo geograficamente. L'immagine recentemente proposta nella Sez. "MRO" (ed alla quale Lei fa riferimento) è relativa a questa zona, come si può agevolmente dedurre dalle coordinate. Comunque sia, il "problema" della "scritta", per noi, non è un problema e, onestamente, la materia la riteniamo esaurita. Cordialmente, Paolo C. Fienga

CHE L’IMMAGINE APPARTENGA ALLA EXPRESS…BEH, C'è ANCHE SCRITTO… IN CHE SENSO NON SI SA A QUALE ZONA APPARTENGA IL FRAME MRO? (E TRA L’ALTRO, ALLORA, COME SI PUò ESSERE SICURI CHE NON HA NULLA A CHE VEDERE CON QUALCOSA?) BASTA CERCARE SUL SITO MRO… 4,5° SUD 297,9° EST! QUINDI SIAMO A MEZZO GRADO DI DISTANZA. LA QUESTIONE, COMUNQUE, PER ME RESTA UNA (ANNUNAKI A PARTE…): DALLA MRO POSSIAMO VEDERE UN IMMAGINE (VERA!) CON UNA DEFINIZIONE DI BEN 80 CM PER PIXEL, MENTRE DALLA EXPRESS ABBIAMO UNA ELABORAZIONE (!) DALLA DEFINIZIONE DI 23.4 METRI PER PIXEL ! BELLA ROBA…SOPRATTUTTO PER SVOLGERE RICERCHE…!

Ringraziando AragoC ed il Dr Di Falco, vorrei precisare che questa materia (ossìa il valore, a fini di ricerca, dei frames ESA-Mars Express) è stata ampiamente trattata e dibattuta sul nostro blog TruePlanets. La conclusione del problema, ribadisco, è che la "scritta" NON è un problema. O meglio: per la nostra Fondazione, essa "non è". Punto.
